We've had several new members join our community, and I first want to thank and welcome all of you. Each of us had a reason or goal in mind for joining GIVE. Many of you share a common affinity towards animals. Some of you have interests in serving those with special needs. Whatever your reason, I want GIVE to meet all your expectations. My personal goal is to grow our community and build awareness for each of your respective causes, but not cloud it with meaningless content such as you find on the other more familiar social networks.
GIVE has purpose, but it's individual purpose relevant to each of our members. I encourage you to reach out to your support base and invite them to join GIVE. I also encourage you to reach out to other GIVE members who share your common interests. Our support base is often obvious; but I suspect there are many among us that support what we do, but are simply unaware of our involvement. You could expand your support base by reaching out to those you work or go to church with. You might find additional support through other parents as you get involved in your children's extracurricular activities (i.e. music, soccer, Scouts, etc.). An easy way to introduce people to GIVE is to print off a sheet of "GIVE Crumbs" from the main page and hand them out.
Something else to consider is that although you joined GIVE with a specific purpose in mind, there might be other areas where you could leverage GIVE. For example, GIVE is a great way to support a specif mission or building campaign for your church. What a great way to build awareness for these efforts, and also help raise money with a FREE virtual billboard. If you're involved in a PTA (Parent Teacher Association), GIVE could be used to build awareness and raise funds for your school or school sponsored activities.
My goal here was to get you thinking about how you could better leverage GIVE. If you have any questions or thoughts, please don't hesitate to contact me on my GIVE page! I welcome your input and suggestions in improving GIVE.
Kind regards,
